Money Market Accounts Pros And Cons

Question: english teacher or communications major?

im a college freshman who was majoring in accounting and the more i thought about it, the more i hated the idea. besides, all my strengths are in reading/writing…now im trying to decide whether to take a major track as an english teacher (grades 7-12) or some kind of communications major? i hear the job market is hard for english teachers and many people consider communications majors a joke..basically i would like to earn decent money while i do my job. i used to think comm would be great for me, esp. b/c im interested in culture, news, whatever is currently going on but i hear its so hard to get a good job…any info would be greatly appreciated on the pros/cons based off your experience.

Answer: Some other kinda of communications major definitely! I mean it is a great benefit to teach children but there is no money in the job so you will never grow in economic wealth and will never be able to become more successful past being a professor.

Money Market Accounts Bank Of America

money market accounts bank of america
Question: What is one of the best Money Market checking/savings accounts with the highest interest yield?

I currently bank of Bank of America. I am disappointed in their low interest rates and am thinking of switching to a brokerage or mutual fund firm that handles checking and savings accounts as well as retirement funds. Can anyone recommend one that yields a decent rate of return with low fees? I’m also thinking of possibly linking a Capital One 5% Money Market savings account to my existing accounts. Does that make sense to do?

Answer: I was considering ING Direct, CapitalOne and HSBC online account. I am going with CapitalOne because I have a company credit card with them and love their service so far so I am looking to build a deeper relationship with them.

Getting more than 5.5% in the US is hard on these kinds of accounts but atleast that is better than the pittance most banks give.

money market accounts in canada
Question: i’m 16, need a location that will let me open an account and invest in stocks, must be open to canadians.?

Are there any brokers/banks/ other places which i can use to invest in the stock market if i’m 16 years old. i know about TD waterhouse but i would like to be able to have an idividual account. preferably one in Canada or atleast eligible to canadians.

Please do not post other money making schemes here

Sorry to post again. but I want to see if I can get more answers

Answer: I’m not COMPLETELY sure, but I do believe that to open an account, you’ll need to be 18. I think you need parental consent and open up a “custodial” account. I am not entirely sure, I just know a friend of mine did this recently though.
